HomeMy WebLinkAboutZMA201000018 Deferral Request 2018-09-26lestme September 26, 2018 Claudette Borgersen Albemarle County Clerk of the Board of Supervisors 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 RE: ZMA201000018 Crozet Square Dear Ms. Borgersen: On behalf of Crozet New Town Associates, the owner of the Barnes Lumber Property, I am writing to request that the Board of Supervisors defer action on ZMA201000018 until September 4, 2019 in accordance with Chapter 18, Section. 33.52. This application has been under review, in several different iterations, for several years. After much work with the Crozet Community Advisory Committee, County Staff, VDOT and other agencies and stakeholders, we believe we have presented a concept plan that has broad support by both staff and the community. The recent Board of Supervisors approval of a ZTA requiring action on all ZMA applications within 36 months of submittal necessitates this deferral request. This application is strongly tied to the 2017-2018 VDOT Revenue Sharing request made by the County, and other cooperative public improvement scenarios still under discussion; we believe this extra time will allow these discussions to move forward to resolution, without a pending deadline, and allow for a more complete and comprehensive application package. My sincere hope is that we can resubmit in the next few months but want to allow appropriate time for other possible delays. I understand that staff supports this request.
