The site was badly damaged. Artifact collectors had removed most of the cultural debris, except for fire -cracked rock and cobbles which were numerous. Nea the eastern edge of the site, at a distance of about 25 meters from the ravine was a large hole that had bee created by the flood. IT was ca. 10 meters in diameter and 3 meters deep. Just beside the hole was located a large piece of Early Woodland pottery. See DHL finds list for more information. Several points and biface were also collected including a small triangular, small stemmed, possible piscataway. Also one piece of cord -marked pottery and a piece of smooth surface. A broken greenstone celt was also recovered. James River Runners (Canoes & rafts) have many artifacts from this general area.
