This is the first Letter of Revision associated with this site plan. Pursuant to Albemarle County staff request, CMA Properties, Inc. agrees that to serve the public interest we will minimally revise our above referenced and approved site plan to change the 5' wide concrete sidewalk running parallel to Berkmar Drive to a 10' wide asphalt Shared Use Path. This change would encompass the entire length of the sidewalk from the project entrance to the south. The small section of sidewalk to the north of the entrance would be deleted to allow for the County's future expansion of the SUP to the north. We propose to utilize the design standards outlined in Jack Kelsey's email of October 11, 2018. Those design standards are: Pavement section that meets VDOT Specifications and consists of a compacted subgrade, a 6" minimum compacted aggregate layer (#21-A stone) extending at least 12" beyond both edges of the paved width, and a 2" minimum compacted surface asphalt (SM-9.5A). Pursuant to Albemarle County requirements, we would retain the 9 street trees adjacent to the sidewalk/SUP. In the interest of expediency for approval of this Letter of Revision we would delete the remaining shrubs and dogwoods except for the 5 indicated on the attached sketch at the far southern end of the sidewalk/SUP. As we are currently under construction and expect to install the sidewalk or Shared Use Path by the end of November and the landscaping by early December, we respectfully request that this Letter of Revision be reviewed and approved as quickly as possible.
