Hi Melody,
I have this permit for the McAlisters. Attached are the comments, I don't see anything major. The main item is to
get the road name and width on the plat, and determine if there is a deed book reference for the road, assuming
that it's private.
Let me know if you have any questions.

SUB 201700132-Boundary Line Adjustment
Hi Will,
I have enclosed a map from FEMA showing the Zone x unshaded (low risk) and a copy of a chat I had with Cody at
FEMA. The water line in the GIS map must have come from the FEMA map.
Cody has given me the info to have the map corrected. The FEMA map generation software is sort of like the GIS
mapping, but a bit more confusing. Can't seem to get it to form a legend yet. Also, it won't show the "zone x" unless
zoomed in to a specific magnification.
I don't know how long the FEMA correction process will take, so please hang on to our application and I will keep you
informed of this process.
I will instruct the surveyor to make all the other corrections.
Thanks, Alex McAlister

To request an official flood zone determination from FEMA regarding a specific property or structure, one
may apply for a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA), or if the property has been elevated by fill, the Letter of
Map Revision based on fill (LOMR-F) online at https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/onlinclomc/signin. Once
you have initially registered to use the ser% ice, please select Create Amendment Application to begin.
Additional information about the online tool is available at http://www.ferna.gov/online-tome.

There was a reference on the plat of a 100 year fema flood plain reference "But is located in flood Zone 'X'." NOt sure
what that means?
Cody (10:48:05 AM)
The high -risk flood zones, known as Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs), begin with the letters "A" or " V"
The moderate -risk flood zones are B and X (shaded). The low -risk areas are C and X (unshaded).
Alexander McAlister (10:48:58 AM)
looking at the map, I can't bring up any shading at all indicating a flood zone
Cody (10.49:53 AM)
Are you accessing the flood maps on the Map Service Center, located at msc.fema.gov?
Alexander McAlister (10:50:55 AM)
yes
Cody (10:51:38 AM)
Are you currently looking at the locator map?
Alexander McAlister (10:53:39 AM)
Sorry, it is FEMA's national flood Lazard layer
Cody (10:56:44 AM)
While on the National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) please note the flood zones are only visible at a certain altitude, it
may be beneficial to zoom into the area of interest. The SFHA would be indicated in a light blue color, and would also
be noted in any letters beginning with 'A' or'V. The moderate risk flood zone would be indicated in a brown or orange
color. Finally the minimal risk flood zone would indicated in satellite imagery.
