RE: SLJB201800021 Pryor
Dear Mr. Kirtley:
The County of Albemarle has received an application for a two -lot division, involving Tax Map Parcels (TMP) #9
14E. This project requires Health Department approval before receiving final County approval.
The applicant has provided copies of the soils work associated with these parcels, dated January 31, 2018. Two copies
of those reports are attached, as is the proposed plat dated January 19, 2018, and an application for subdivision review
dated February 5, 2018.
Please review the proposals for suitable subsurface drainfields which comply with the provisions of Chapter 18,
Sections 4.2.2, 4.2.3, 4.2.4, and Chapter 14, Sections 14-309 and 14-310 of the Albemarle County Code. Should you
have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
Review comments are due on Friday, March 2. Please call or email me if you have any questions or requests for

I'd like to let you know that I double checked the application folder today and I don't see a VDOT approval in file. Unless
we received it electronically and it wasn't forwarded to me, I don't think we have it yet.
already transmitted the plat to VDOT for approval of entrance last week, and it is already picked -up from the VDOT
inbox at the county. Once I receive the approval from VDOT, I will get the plat signed and place it for pick-up.
I apologize again for the delay of the review comments. I will get it signed as soon as we receive the approval.

As I mentioned in my previous email, this application needs VDOT's approval of entrance to a public road. It seems like
you don't have it already. Therefore, I will transmit the plat to VDOT to get their approval. Once I get it, I will get the plat
signed and place it for pick-up at the front desk and let you know.

I'd like to let you know that I finished the initial review of the application SUB201800021. I have the following comment:
This application requires VDOT's approval of entrance to a public road [§14-316]
This is because
1. this is a Rural Subdivision application and
2. there are no "two or more dwellings existed on the parcel on October 14, 2009 and one existing dwelling
located on each lot created" and
3. the lots face a public road Route 663
The rest of the application looks good. Please send me VDOT's approval of entrance to a public road if you already have
it. If that's not the case I will transmit this request to VDOT and get the approval needed. Once we get the approval from
VDOT, we are ready to sign.

Hey Will,
Glad the soils reports were received and submitted to the Heaith Department.
I had sent several emails to the planners trying to find out who the planner was on this project before
Roger delivered the reports to the front desk.
County View had the SUB number but no planner was listed, so I had to leave that part blank.
If Steve Gooch had been the Soil Consultant on this one, this would not have been an issue.
He knows what to do with them and he and Bill Fritz advised us that we could put any future
submittals of soils reports to Bill Fritz attention.

Sorry for the confusion on this. I had created a line for the Health Department for when we created this in our system, as
a placeholder. 1 wasn't clear with Faruk on that.
We had not received the soils report. Faruk did some digging and found it. Turns out that when it was delivered, it said
"deliver to:" but didn't include a name. Consequently, it remained at the front desk. For whoever submitted that
paperwork, if you work with them, let them know to include a name on those, just to avoid this type of thing. We
weren't looking because we didn't know that it was down downstairs.
Apologies for the confusion. We're transmitting to the Health Department and will include a note requesting that they
get back to us this sooner, due to the delay.
