Thanks for meeting with us yesterday. Although all of the parcels initially identified are covered under the previous
1986 determination, included under the VDMME permit and included within the mineral rights tracked on separate tax
map parcel numbers (see below), the list of parcels has been carefully reviewed to provide an accurate list and eliminate
parcels that may not have been active in the past 2 years. Based upon this criteria, there are 15 parcels identified on the
revised list.
The revised list is attached and the 15 parcels have a bold box around them. The tax maps are also attached with the
red outline of the 1986 areas and blue highlighting on the 15 parcels. This includes a blow up of the lower portion of tax
map 126 to show this area clearly. In addition, I had a color print out of the revised list and tax maps delivered to your
office this afternoon (because you said you didn't have a color printer :+).
Please note a few important details:
a. For the small parcels along the front of "Serene", please refer to the subdivision plat that shows the house
locations and a "quarry" line. These parcels are 2 acres each and only the rear portion which is about half to three-
quarters of the parcel area has been involved in the quarry activity. According to the information on file with the
subdivision plat at that time, the county required that the surveyor show this line and label the distances on the
building locations.
b. Tax map numbers have been assigned that are Mineral Rights Only. These are
126 - 31 C, 31 D, 31 F1 and 111-27A and 118 - 27B. There is no highlighted area shown because they are not actual
parcels. As you are aware the County assigned the numbers and have noted the numbers on other parcels. I didn't put a
box around these numbers or include them in the acreage count because it would be a double count of the acreage. I just
thought that this was worth mentioning so your written determination could reference that the "mineral rights" are tracked
under these tax map parcel numbers. They are an important part of the "use" to keep track of.
