surrounding the sign base does not constitute landscaping. What my comment was attempting to
convey was thata bed of mulch will be placed around the sign — which is often done so that a
lawnmower doesn't run right up to a sign base — then a groundcover, low-lying shrubs, or flowers will
be required in that bed of mulch. I see on the first page you have added a bed of mulch with no
landscaping. Please revise this and resend.

Hello Lauren,
The sign permit for Sentara Martha Jefferson on Rt. 29 N (B2019-905) was approved by the final staff reviewer on
1/18/19; it should be ready for release and you should have received word on its final approval from Zoning or in -take
staff. The Certificate of Appropriateness (which allowed me, as ARB staff, to approve the permit) was issued 1/17/19.
The sign permits for UVA Community Credit Union (B2019 -109s and 82019-1105) have not been received by ARB staff
for review — they are still in the hands of other reviewers. However, the corresponding ARB application (ARB2019-3) has
not been approved, and I sent an email with attached letter to Lewis on 1/18/19 that stated further changes were
requested before a Certificate of Appropriateness can be issued. For your reference, I have attached that letter to this
email. Once I receive the revised drawings, I will issue a Certificate of Appropriateness, sign off on the sign permit, and
then pass that building permit on to the next reviewer. Once again, Zoning or in -take staff will notify you once that
permit has been approved by all reviewers and is ready for release.

Hi!
I am checking on the status of two permits I mailed into you all. Permit for Sentara Martha Jefferson and PW Campbell
for UVA Credit Union in Crozet, this permit was revised by Lewis Rector(designer on the project) as it was missing some
information and some info on permit needed to be changed. If you could please send me the status of both permits and
any info that you all need from us that would be much appreciated.
