While that alteration meets the Zoning Ordinance language that prohibits signs extending above and below building walls, it does not address the two ARB comments I sent to you in the letter dated November 21 (attached), which are below: 1. Revise the size of the wall sign so that the entirety of all letters fall within the sign band area and provide at least 4" of clearance between the bottom of the sign band and the bottom of the letters as well as at least 4" of clearance between the top of the sign band and the top of the letters. Ensure that no letter extends above the cornice or below the wall plane. 2. Vertically center the sign in the sign band. The sign size has not been revised so that the entirety of all letters fall within the sign band area (which is the white portion of the wall space; the red flashing at the very top is coping, and not part of the sign band area) and provides at least 4" of clearance between the bottom of any portion of the sign (i.e., the bottommost is the tail of the 'y') and the bottom of the sign band area as well as 4" of clearance between the top of any portion of the sign (i.e., the uppermost are the top of the 'T' and the top of the 'b') and the top of the sign band area. This can only be achieved with further reduction of the sign size or redesign of the 'T,' 'b', and 'y.' Furthermore, the sign mounting rails and the letters have not been moved so that the sign is vertically centered in the sign band area. Therefore, this revision does not meet the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines or the requested changes provided in the November 21 letter to you which is attached to this email. I cannot approve this sign application until these requests are met.
