Dear Ms. Nedostup:
The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section, has reviewed the above referenced study as submitted by Timmons Group, revised 7
January 2019, and offers the following comments:
1- The Department recommends that the TIA evaluate alternatives for addressing offsite
transportation impacts.
2. The proposed typical sections call for 2'-6' buffer strips and 4'-8' sidewalks. As
previously noted, sidewalk widths shall be 5 feet where adjacent to a buffer strip and 8
feet where adjacent to concrete curb, and buffers strips are to be a minimum of 3 feet
(w/o trees).

A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section at (434) 422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.
