Hello Laura,
Please find your Certificate of Appropriateness attached for the proposed Euromotive sign. I will also sign off on
(approve) your building/sign permit now for ARB staff and route it to the next reviewer; when your sign permit is ready
for pick-up, you will be notified by Zoning staff.
Please note condition number 2 on your Certificate of Appropriateness: all shrubs planted in the Entrance Corridor
should eb 24" in height at a minimum when they are planted (the logic behind this is that we prefer a more mature
landscape installation when a sign is erected). Your proposal did not meet this one criterion because you stated the
boxwoods would be 18" high when planted. Rather than making you revise your application again for this one detail, I
made it a condition of approval. Please be sure that when you go to plant the boxwoods that they are at least 2 feet
high.
Thanks,

Thank you, I will let the guys know.
My apologies for any discrepancies with this process -- I have been doing what I can to help the guys but we just had a
baby and I'm working on limited sleep!
Thanks for your patience and assistance.
Best,
Laura

Hi Laura,
At this stage no hardcopies are needed. I will take care of it on my end. And the fee is $129, not $139.
That does need to be brought into the office and submitted directly to in -take staff.

Hi again Heather,
Attached are the revised copies of the sign proposal and the image with dimensions displayed.
Everything should match now. Addtionally, I have added the boxwoods (with scientific name and
proposed use) back into the proposal.
A hard copy of these items as well as the application will be submitted to the Department of Community
Development along with the $139 fee.
Please let me know if there is anything else.
Many thanks,
Laura

Good afternoon,
I am writing on behalf of the owners of EuroMotive, LLC, a business opening along the 250 corridor, as I am assisting
with the permit process for their proposed sign. I have read your letter dated January 25th and wanted to address the
requests in this correspondence.
Regarding the review fee, Euromotive has already provided part of the fee which covered the free-standing sign
($91.64). 1 understand the remainder of the fee, to total $139, is due as it has been declared the sign plan does not meet
the conditions of a Comprehensive Sign Plan. Could you please advise what qualifications it does not meet? I have gone
through the conditions as stated in your provided link and feel the proposal does satisfy the conditions listed.
Regarding the missing pages (6 and 7) the sign diagram (page 6 of the application) was previously submitted via e-mail
but I will include a copy attached to this e-mail. There is no place available on the document to input distance from the
property line (when you create an electronic copy) but that distance is 172" from the outside of the sign post. The
location is physically marked on the property with stakes as well. Page 7 was already submitted with the hard copy of
the application that was turned in directly to the office. That copy includes a signature and date from one of the owners,
Erich Moeller. A copy was sent to the property owner via USPS. The owner himself also provided feedback including the
suggestion to downsize the sign (originally 8'x4', now 6'x3').
I am attaching a full copy (pages 1-7) of the application to this e-mail, however page 7 is not signed as you should
already have this on file.
I am also attaching the revised sign proposal document. I have included the information about the wood frame being
pressure treated wood as well as updated the measurements of the sign.
We have removed the greenery/softscape from the design plan.
Lastly, I am attaching a copy of the property as shown on the GIS website with the sign location marked.
I hope this is everything needed to move this along! Please let me know as soon as possible if everything is OK or if there
is anything else you need.
Thank you so much!
Laura Bittle

Hi Erich,
Thank you for your response. I am sorry you did not receive my email on 1/25/19 (a screenshot of which I have included
below, with the date sent highlighted). it had an attachment included which was the same letter you received in the
post. Perhaps it was redirected automatically to your spam folder?
Anyway, I look forward to receiving your resubmission this week.

with that. Hopefully everything we submit this time will address the items in the letter, but please let us know if we do
miss something.
Thank you,

Hello Erich,
I have not heard from you since my last email on 1/25/19. In that email, I attached a letter that requested the missing
ARB fee and omitted materials from your application package. The letter also stated that if we did not hear from you
within 15 days, we would consider the application denied. That deadline is Saturday, February 9th. Please respond
directly to this email before Saturday to let me know whether you intend to move forward with this application. I am
re -attaching to this email the letter dated January 25, 2019, that requests missing information and changed.
In addition, your sign permit was routed to me for review today, and I see that you have revised some parts of it (it
appears you added the last two pages of the sign application that were missing as well as provided an amended
photograph with dimensions). Please note that the ARB application is a separate application from the sign permit — so
whatever revised materials you submit to Zoning staff should also be submitted to me.
I want to underscore the duality of this review process — Zoning staff reviews this application for compliance with the
Zoning Ordinance while ARB staff reviews the application materials for compliance with the EC Design Guidelines; we
look at the same materials that you submit but to check it for compliance with different regulations. So if I send you a
letter requesting changes, please address those changes and send revisions directly to me — preferably by email.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. If you have questions about the review process or the application or the letter
I sent you, please call or email me.

Hi Erich,
I've just reviewed your sign application for completeness, and it is incomplete. Review of the sign for compliance with
the Zoning Ordinance and with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines cannot be undertaken until all missing and
requested information is supplied. Please see the attached letter for more details.
I provided a number of hyperlinks to various resources that should be helpful to you in the body of the letter; I'm going
to repeat them in the body of this email in case you have any difficulty opening the hyperlinks within the .pdf:

ARB webpage that lists parcels with Comprehensive Sign Plans
