The tourist lodging/accessory dwelling questions are a bit tricky — although your property has many characteristics of a rural parcel, which would allow usage of accessory structures for bed & breakfast use, this use of the studio would not be permitted under the R-1 residential zoning. The County doesn't allow detached accessory apartments, although your property has the necessary acreage for a second dwelling unit, so I'll need to check into some of the nuances related to the building code/zoning code definitions. Hope this helps. I also wanted to ask you about the Tourist Lodging provision. We had talked with our builder when we got permits for the studio about sometime in the future Margaux (who is now 3) living in the studio ( in college for example) or renting it to a tenant. Is that not allowable? I was under the impression that because of our acreage that it was allowable, though the final building we could build and live in. Is that provision just for an Air B&B type situation? Could you explain please? I appreciate your time Andrew... sorry i have SO MANY questions.
