PROJECT #/NAME: ARB 2018-150, Sherwin Williams Sign
Date 12-20-2018
Previous ARB Comment 12-20-18 Review
Regarding the wall signs:
1. The proposed white face channel letter color meets approved
Comprehensive Sign Criteria for color.
2. ARB Sign Guidelines indicate the sign should not overcrowd
the architectural element, the wall, or the sign area. Just how
well the sign fits within the brick sign area cannot be
adequately determined from the photo-rendering provided in
the application. Provide a drawing showing the sign within the
brick sign band area and the distance from the top, bottom
and sides of the sign to the edge of the brick sign band. The
sign should be centered vertically between the brick edge
(above the glass windows below) and the round decorative
element directly above (see existing condition below) A
minimum of 6" of brick should show at the ends of the sign,
more would be appropriate as well. OK - done
3. Revise the wall sign drawings to:
1. Indicate whether or not the Sherwin Williams logo will
illuminate and how it will illuminate (e.g. internal LED).
OK- done
2. Indicate the closest Pantone color number equivalent
for the red in the Sherwin Williams logo. OK- done
3. Include a latest revision date on all sign drawings. OK -
done
4. Include the following note limiting the intensity of the
LED internal illumination.
The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will
not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30
milliamp (ma) neon. OK- done
Previous ARB Comment 12-20-18 Review
Regarding the tenant panel sign:
1. Approved Comprehensive Sign Criteria colors for the tenant
panels include Sandalwood Beige, Burgundy, White and Black.
While the drawing appears to show a black background, notes on
the drawing refer to a "Sherwin Williams Blue Background". The
proposed blue background is not a permitted color.
2. Revise the tenant panel sign drawing to:
1. Show an approved color for the background. A black
background would be appropriate. OK - done
2. Indicate the closest Pantone color number equivalent
for the red in the logo. OK- done
3. Include the following note: "The tenant panel
background shall be opaque, only the text and graphic
shall illuminate."OK- done
4. Include a latest revision date on all sign drawings. OK -
done
