RE: ARB-2019-33: Goodwill tenant panel refacing (TMP 04500-00-00-1100)
Dear Lauren,
I have reviewed the above -noted sign applications. The following revisions are requested to make the
proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines.
1. Northtown Center has a Comprehensive Sign Plan (enclosed) which pertains to the tenant panel
signs affixed to the monument sign on TMP 04500-00-00-1100. The approved tenant panel
background colors (Green (PMS 343); Red (PMS 188); Yellow (PMS 122; Black or White) do
not include the proposed blue in this application. Revise the design to comply with the approved
Comprehensive Sign Plan criteria.
2. Provide all proposed colors on the sign drawing.
3. Please note that the last approved tenant panel sign for Northtown Center, for the Buffalo Wild
Wings (ARB2018-44), shows dimensions (57.25" x 14") that are slightly smaller than the
dimensions this application proposed (58.5" x 14.5"). Please field verify the sign of the tenant
panels, which should be consistent.
4. Consider removing the subtitle "Storage & Donation Center" for a less crowded appearance.
5. Explicitly state on the sign drawing which parts of the sign are opaque (i.e., the background)
versus what is translucent (i.e., the text).
a. Note that the inclusion of the word `translucent' on the current application suggests that
the panel sign is or will be internally illuminated. Clarify the intention to internally
illuminate the sign on the sign drawing and name the light source (i.e., LED).
i. If the lighting apparatus within the monument sign is pre-existing, there is no
need to provide illumination details or manufacturer specifications.
b. Provide the standard LED lighting note on the sign drawing: The level of illumination
provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke
of 30 milliamp (ma) neon.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period
associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised
drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your
application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the
application without further revisions.
