MINUTES-BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS- September 26 , 1972
, This was a regular meeting of. the Albemarle County Board of
Zoning Appeals , held in the Board Room of the County Office
Building at 5 : 30 PM on Tuesday, September 26 , 1972 .
Members present : Savory Amato , Chairman, E. H. Bain; Vice-
Chairman, William Roudabush, W. P. Heath and Harry Brown.
The Chairman established that a quorum was present.
• (1) Va. 72-18 R. D. Wade Builders ,applicant request the
Board of Zoning Appeals of Albemarle County to grant a
variance of four feet from the minimum side yard requirement
of 10 feet in an R-,1 Residential Zone. Property is located
at the intersection of Woodhurst Court and Woodhurst Road in
the Canterbury Hills Subdivision and is described as County
Tax 'Map 60-D, Lot 24, Block H, Section 5, J.J. Magesterial
District.
The staff gave its report to the board, mentioning the fact that
Mr. Wade had been before the Board several times before with
similar requests .
Mr. Richard Barrick, representing Mr. Wade , stated that the wooden
deck in question had been added after initial construction of the
residence and that the person in charge at that time had decided
to construct the deck on the left side of the dwelling due to the
shape of the lot and topo of the land.
After a short discussion by the Board, a motion was made by Mr.
Roudabush and seconded by Mr. Brown to approve the variance as
requested.
The was carried unamiously.
