I have just spent the last 20 minutes or so attempting to find a Pantone equivalent to that CMYK number,to no avail. The best I could find on an internet color converter is Pantone 459C. Is that the best color match to the vinyl you are asking for on the '2'? By the way,you did not list'vinyl'as a material in any part of your sign drawing. Besides aluminum and acrylic, there is also vinyl, correct? Are there any other materials not listed? Please revise your sign drawing(the page that shows the "Love2 Eat" logo)to include the exact colors and their Pantone equivalents (if you choose Pantone as the standard ID, please write "Pantone" on the drawing)and all of the materials requested. You can send that back to me by email. I will print it out here. Do you have a sample of the vinyl? It would really expedite this review if you could submit a material sample. The gold color that is going to be laid over the"2" in"LOVE2EAT" is vinyl and we have the CMYK for that. I converted that CMYK color to the closest PMS match I could find because I did not think I could supply a CMYK color. Can I provide a CMYK for the gold "2"? CMYK is C:15,M:22,Y:63,K:0 Thank you! I'm looking at Pantone 459C, and that is not gold; it's a light yellow on a spectrum we generally wouldn't approve.A closer Pantone approximation to gold is 873. Have you chosen an acrylic material yet? Is it truly a gold, and the Pantone 459C is an approximate match? Please let me know what brand of acrylic material you've chosen for this sign so that I can better gauge how gold it is. I've printed out the packet you just sent me by email. I see that you used the blank template I provided; I hope that was helpful to you (and I hoped the template full of hypothetical examples I sent you would be helpful as well). Please note that when you include the standard color ID number(such as 459C),you must also note which color format you are using—Pantone or Benjamin Moore or Matthews Paint or Sherwin Williams, etc. I assume,on this application, you meant Pantone 459C,correct?A sample is not needed but it is customary to provide a paint chip, such as in this application (stapled to second page): http://cob-Ifiche03/WebLinkWA/2/doc/962054/Pagel.aspx?sea rchid=746f5349-8063-41d7-9c9f-14dcc9c9c185 I believe in the letter I sent you on February 16, 2018, I also asked you to provide manufacturer cut sheets describing the illumination type, intensity, and color. Stating "internal LED" is just stating the type of lighting and is not all of the information requested. We need to know the color(they have to be white, by the way), the intensity(such as how many watts or lumens they output, or kelvins, which is a measure of energy/color intensity). Please provide this information so that I can commence review of this application. I want to share this link with you of a CoA for a sign I just issued today, as it's one of the best examples of a sign application I've had submitted to me: http://cob-Ifiche03/WebLinkWA/2/doc/962730/Pagel.aspx?searchid=34b87c5f- 552 c-4cc2-99f3-53 b 1 b0641663 7 Heather McMahon,Senior Planner Albemarle County Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville,VA 22902 434-296-5832 x3278 hmcmahon@albemarle.org From:Tommy Mullin Finailto:tommv@image360cville.com] Sent:Thursday, February 22, 2018 12:19 PM To: Heather McMahon<hmcmahon@albemarle.org> Cc: Emily White<ewhite@albemarle.org> Subject: RE: no good deed Hi Heather, I apologize for making this process difficult, I should have reviewed all of it a lot more before I submitted everything to you. Please let me clarify: we both need copies of the revised drawings. Emily reviews sign applications for their compliance with the Zoning Ordinance, while I review sign applications for compliance with the ARB Design Guidelines. We need to be looking at the same material, at the same time. That's why the application asks for multiple copies of drawings/materials. To answer your question below, the sign templates that I sent you do not supersede the application;they are merely a helpful tool for organizing content. You have already submitted an application, so you do not need to do that again. You do need to submit revised drawings to me, preferably as a .pdf via email, and then you also need to address whatever concerns Emily raised in regards to Zoning compliance on those same drawings. Please call me if you have further questions about the review process.
