The attached is the signature page that you will either have someone from Riverbend sign or as Judy notes provide a
letter authorizing you to sign the application. As Riverbend is a Limited Partnership, please have the person from that
partnership also provide the documents noted on the signature page identifying them as an authorized signatory or
someone that can authorize you to sign if they provide a letter granting you the ability to sign for them.
Once we have that information and review the application for completeness,we will notify you when you may come in
and pay the fee for the application.

2. We did not have a regular pre-application meeting, but Ed Brown met with Margaret
Maliszewski and Rebecca Ragsdale to discuss the proposal and review the process on October 4,
2017.

information that was requested by staff.

Hi Ed,
I have attached the easement info and Pantops pylon sign parcel records. We do not own the actual land that the sign is
on, but have an easement for it use. Please let me know if this will satisfy the 7th check box on the permit
application. Also, I have confirmed that we can attest to having no unpaid taxes,charges,fees or liens owed to the
County of Albemarle. So that can be checked off.
We made one really small edit to the write up that you provided. You can see the edit in the application document
attached to this email. I believe we noted that you had signed the last submittal that was turned in, so you are good to
sign this application when you submit. For the payment, do you need us to provide a check and if so can you remind me
the amount? I will get our finance team to write a check that you can pick up or I can swing it by your office sometime
next week.

The Special Use Permit application received in the Department of Community Development on 09/04/2018 has been
deemed complete by County staff.The applicant must now pay the required fee for this application to be further

The application fee required for SP-2018-00012 is$538.00
Please provide a check to the front office staff in the Department of Community Development for the amount noted
above, payable to the"County of Albemarle,"as soon as possible, but no later than Tuesday,September 18th, 2018.

ADDITIONAL FEES REQUIRED BUT NOT DUE AT THIS TIME.
Please note that there will be one public hearing by the Board of Zoning Appeals.Virginia State Code requires that notice
for public hearings be made by publishing a legal advertisement in the newspaper and by mailing letters to adjacent
property owners.
The total fee for public notice will be provided to you after the final cost is determined and must be paid before a public
body hears the application. Staff estimates the total cost of legal advertisement and adjacent owner notification to be
between $400 and$450 per hearing.This estimate reflects the average cost of public notice fees for Special Use Permit
applications, but the cost of certain applications may be higher.
If applicable, any fees for waiver/special exceptions will be required at the time the additional fees noted above are
calculated.

Understanding that there has been the confusion regarding signatures for this application . In the spirit of trying to keep
this application on the schedule for an October 2, 2018 Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) meeting,the deadline to obtain
the owner's signature for this application was extend to August 27th, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
At this time the owner's signature has not been obtained;therefore, the application remains incomplete and cannot
be scheduled for the October 2,2018 Board of Zoning Appeals(BZA)meeting.
In order to be scheduled for the November 13, 2018 Board of Zoning Appeals(BZA) meeting,the deadline to obtain the
owner's signature for this application will be Tuesday,September 4,2018 by 3:00 pm. If these items are not corrected

or bureau..."The deed provided does not identify Great Eastern Management as any of those entities listed, but only as
an easement holder. Thus,as noted in the email below, Zoning will need the owner of TMP 78-17D6, Keith Woodard,to
sign the application. A copy of the signature page for an SP is attached.

Below please find a copy of the request scheduled for the Tuesday, November 13, 2018
Board of Zoning Appeals meeting.
SP2018-00012 Pantops Shopping Center Pylon Sign (Sign# 17 & 18) - Request for
issuance of a special use permit to erect an electric message sign (per Zoning
Ordinance Section 4.15.7 d) at the Pantops Shopping Center along Richmond Road
(Rt. 250). The proposed electronic message sign is approximately 5.5 x 3.4 ft and
will replace an existing changeable message type sign. Property is located at 260
Pantops Center about 350 feet west of the intersection with Richmond Road (Rt. 250)
and Riverbend Drive. Property is 07800-00-00-017D6 and is zoned Planned
Development Shopping Center and Entrance Corridor Overlay.
If there are departmental concerns that you would like to have included in the staff
recommendation, please contact this office by Friday, September 28, 2018.
