Dear Mrs. Graves: This letter is to inform the Berkeley Community of the proceedings and actions of the February 9, 1971 , meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals held in the Board of Supervisors room in the County Office Building. The Board approved the variance request by Daley Craig, Inc. This approval , however, was with conditions. 1 . That the "Four Season Swim and Racquet Club" portion of the proposed sign be deleted "if" the Berkeley sign is removed within 60 days of February 9, 1971 . If the sign is not removed within the allotted time period, Daley Craig, Inc. will be allowed to add that part of the sign to the main structure. 2. That upon completion of the entrance location signs , Daley Craig, Inc. will relinquish the right to construct location type bill board signs at the Berkeley entrance on the previously granted permit. 3. That Daley Craig, Inc. will take down the existing sign at the Berkeley entrance which says "Four Seasons" , and that sign permit number 70-471 which allowed construction of this sign be invalidated. 4. That the Zoning Administrator notify your community of the Mrs. Joan Graves February 10, 1971 Page 2 proceedings and of the fact that Daley Craig, Inc. has offered to remove the Berkeley sign. I have also attached a copy of the unapproved minutes of last night's meeting for your general information. Property is located at the intersection of Barracks Road and Georgetown Road, and is described as Tax Map 60A, Parcel 11A, Charlottesville Magisterial District. b. VA-71-01 . Daley Craig, Inc. has petitioned the Albemarle County Board of Zoning Appeals to grant a 29.5 foot variance from the minimum setback of 30 feet from the Right-of-Way on Dominion Drive to con- struct a location sign. Property is located on Dominion Drive and U.S. 29 at the entrance to Berkeley and Four Seasons Developments and is described as Tax Map 61M, Parcel 1 , Charlottesville Magisterial District. c. VA-71-02. Peter Hallock. to request a variance of 19 feet from the minimum setback of 50 feet in a B-1 Business Zone abutting a zone of different classification.
