Commissioner COMMONWEALTH of VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1601 Orange Road Culpeper Vaginla 22701 March 26, 2019 County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 Attn: Christopher Perez Re: Auto Zone #6464 — Initial Site Plan SDP-2018-00090 Review #2 Dear Mr. Perez: The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as submitted by Timmons Group, revised 4 March 2019, and offers the following comments: 1. As noted in our previous review letter, Access Management exceptions will be required for both proposed entrance locations. Approval of both proposed entrance locations cannot be guaranteed prior to review of these exception requests. 2. If an entrance is permitted via AM/E on Route 29, a right turn lane warrant analysis must be provided. 3. The entire intersection sight distance lines, and profiles, must be provided on the plans. 4. Note that the final site plan must show conformance with the VDOT Road Design Manual Appendices B(1) and F, as well as any other applicable standards, regulations or other requirements. If further information is desired, please contact Justin Deel at 434-422-9894. A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way.
