RE: ARB-2019-31: Cremation Sign of Virginia (Tax Map 45, Parcel 109)
Dear Ms. Powers,
We have reviewed your request for the above -noted sign and have approved the design as illustrated in the attached
drawing with a latest revision date of April 10, 2019. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness.
This approval is specifically conditioned on the following:
1. Execution of the design indicated on the final approved plans, attachments, materials, samples, and other submittal
items presented.
2. The level of illumination produced by the LED lights shall not exceed the level of illumination produced by a
single stroke of 30 milliamp neon.
Please note the following:
1. Any changes in the approved design will require a new application and additional review.
2. This ARB approval is only one approval required prior to installing a sign. An approved sign permit is also
required. Please do not proceed with the construction or installation of your sign until you have received your
signed permit. If you have questions about the status of a sign permit application, please contact the permit intake
staff at 296-5832.
3. Zoning, building, and other approvals may still be pending for your sign permit. This approval is only for
the Architectural Review Board/Entrance Corridor.
4. Architectural Review Board approval of proposed signage on the plaza/parking lot (northwest elevation) is
not required due to lack of visibility from the Route 29 Entrance Corridor.
