Fleshman Dear Ms. Fleshman: Today we received via registered mail a notice as an adjoining property owner of Ridge Electronics of application for variance of 40 feet from the requested 50 foot setback on a business sign in front of their building. We would like to remind the County of Albemarle that when the Watson Corporation originally put up the Avon Street property for use by the Hamilton Paper Corporation, the Hamilton Paper Corporation and the Watson Corporation made the same request about the Hamilton sign. As we recall, the decision at that time was that we must obey to put setback requirement, which we did. Therefore, it would certainly be our feeling that if this same request was denied the lessee of this property, the same 50 foot setback requirement should be observed by all other businesses in the same area and for the same reasons.
