Frazier: After reviewing Article 15A-4 I find that the ordinance does not allow for large identification signs to facilitate buildings such as churches. Therefore, your application has been denied. Your alternatives are as follows: 1) Amend the zoning ordinance to allow freestanding signs for churchs, etc. ; 2) Reduce the size of your sign to comply with the regulations for an identification sign - 15A-4-2 "(a) not more than two (2) square feet in area; and (b) not more than one (1) on any lot or premises;" or, 3) Remove the sign.
