F. Paulett & Son, Inc. Tax Map: 130, Parcel A(1)64 part of Zoning: B-1 Acreage: 2.186 acres Existing Activity The existing lot is vacant. Hardware store is proposed for site. To the immediate east is the Scottsville Shopping Center. Smith Chevrolet is located northeast of the property. Residential areas are located south, west and northwest of site. Proposed Variance The applicant is requesting the Board to grant an additional 16 feet variance from the Scenic Highway Designation - to allow for an entrance porch. Note - VA-76-45 was granted for an amount of 75 feet from the Scenic Highway Designa- tion. Zoning Ordinance Requirements Article 18, Section 18-3-1 requires a 150 foot setback for all structures from any designated scenic highway. Staff Comment The applicant plans to colonial brick the front of his building in order to make it more attractive. An overhead canopy for customer service is part of his proposed improvement.
