L. Butler (Trustee) by Avis Rental Tax Map: 32 parcel 17B(5) Acreage: 8.046 Zoning: M-1 Existing Activity Residential and industrial tracts of land exist in the area with the local airport nearby. The lot in question has existing structures which are to be razed. Proposed Variance The application desires a variance due to the narrowness of the lot at the closet point to the road. To move the proposed structure the full 50 feet from the property line will, the applicant contends, reduce the turning radius needed for tractor trailers and other vehicles entering the lot. The applicant desires a close location to the road for business purposes and therefore does not desire to be further back off the road. To accomplish all of this, the applicant requests a variance. Ordinance Requirement Section 8-5 of the M-1 zone requires 50 foot setback from adjoining residential or agricultural property. Staff Comment The adjoining property owner has written in opposition to the variance.
