EXISTING ACTIVITY
The area is a Shopping Center affronting Route 29 north.
PROPOSED VARIANCE
The applicant wishes to locate a free standing sign and plastic model figure
of the Shoney Big Boy on the side walk of the Shoney Restaurnat. Applicant
feels the sign is essential to his business by providing a familiar
identification symbol to the traveling public.
ORDINANCE REQUIREMENT
15A-6-1 (d) allows no more than two free standing signs on any one lot or
permises.
STAFF COMMENT
If the Board should choose to approve the variance, the staff recommends the
following conditions:

2) The figure by firmly anchored and maintained.
