AMENDMENT TO LEASE
THIS AMENDMENT TO LEASE is executed in duplicate this 29th
• day of March, 1977, by and between GRAFTON M. WOOD and MARY W. WOOm ,
husband and wife; CLARENCE J. RICKARD and GLORIA W. RICKARD, hus-
band and wife; EVELYN W. HALL, single; WINSTON S . WOOD, single;
and JAMES V. RICE and SARAH L. RICE, husband and wife, hereinafter
referred to as the Landlords, and MCL CORPORATION, a Virginia cor- �.
poration, hereinafter referred to as the Tenant,
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS , the parties hereto entered into a Lease Agreement
for lease of Parcel No. 31-38 on the Albemarle County Tax Maps , a I'
triangular portion of land located at the intersection of Route
663 and Route 743 , in Albemarle County, Virginia, on which proper-
ty is located the store formerly known as M-C Market, dated May 27
1974, and
WHEREAS , the Tenant made certain alterations to the premise•.
for which alterations the owners of the property need a variance
under the Zoning Regulations of Albemarle County, and
WHEREAS, said alterations may cause the real estate taxes
on the property to increase to a limited degree, and
WHEREAS , the alterations have now been done in a manner sat
isfactory to the Landlords,
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the premises , the
parties agree as follows :
1. In addition to the rent called for in the lease of May
27 , 1974, Tenant shall pay to the Landlords an additional amount
of rent of $2 . 50 per month, beginning April 1, 1977, and continuin•
on the first day of each month thereafter throughout the term.

2 . Landlord3shall join with the Tenants in requesting the
authorities of Albemarle County, Virginia to grant a variance allow-
ing the improvements as they now exist.
3 . Landlords authorize Winston S . Wood to act for them and
on their behalf as their attorney-in-fact for the purpose of secur-
ing the necessary variance to the zoning laws of Albemarle County,
Virginia, in order that the improvements to the property shall
comply with the Zoning Ordinance.
