Market Street Charlottesville, Virginia 22901 Dear Mr. Hurt: Mr. Gary A. Howie asked me to write to you stating the Highway Depart- ment's position regarding the issuance of a permit to him to install a private water line on our Right of Way. This 2" water line of approximately 450 feet '. in length is to be located a minimum of 3 ft. off pavement and a minimum of 24" below surface at lowest point of road bed. We told Mr. Howie that we could grant him permission to install this private water line on our Right of Way provided he would be responsible for the maintanence of this water line and post a continuing bond in the amount of $5,000.00 for a period of three years, and also send us an inspection fee amount- ing to #17.50 for same.
