I'm sorry I missed your call today. I haven't completed my review of the proposed Comp Sign Plan for Seminole North yet, so I don't know exactly what changes I'll be recommending to the ARB. I did notice a few things, however, that I think will be potential issues and can offer them now, with the understanding that this is not a complete list of comments/recommendations. 1. The ARB has already said that the City Electric Supply sign cannot be approved as is. One of the reasons was the lack of a CSP, but others include: the lack of coordination of the three parts of the sign, the overscaled size of the graphic in comparison to the letters, the "crushed" appearance of the sign parts, and the crushed location of the top of the "CES" sign under the gutter. I doubt the ARB will approve this sign location, so you may want to work on an alternative or two. 2. The tops of the proposed sign bands are shown "crushed" up into the gutter. I would move the tops of the bands down and indicate a clear distance to be maintained—probably not less than 6". How much space is left above the Dille Classic cars sign? 3. The CSP includes 3 sign types. A single sign type is recommended by the sign guidelines. 4. Why is green wanted as a wall sign color?Colors are typically limited to 3, but I could recommend approval of red, white, blue and black. 5. If you plan to propose internally illuminated cabinet signs, the CSP should clearly state that the background of the sign will be opaque. 6. The CSP says awning signs can be internally illuminated. How would that work? What would it look like? 7. Under"Size Limitations" I would add, "and EC sign guidelines." 8. What is the height of the sign bands? Has size and color information been collected for each of the signs that have been installed without permits(all but ABC)? If so, it would be useful to have this information while we conduct our review of the CSP. If you do plan to make changes based on my recommendations, please understand that the ARB could agree or disagree with me, and they could have additional concerns that I may not have identified. Due to time constraints, I will have to limit my review and staff report to the submittal that has already been made, but you are welcome to let the ARB know at the ARB meeting that you have revisions you'd like to share with them. Unless the agenda is excessively long, they are often agreeable to considering revisions that are presented in an organized, efficient manner. If you have other questions, please let me know. Thanks.
