ES-1: Unless otherwise indicated, all vegetative and structural erosion and
sediment control practices will be constructed and maintained according
to minimum standards and specifications of the Virginia Erosion and
Sediment Control Handbook and Virginia Regulati6nsVR 625-02-00
Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations.
ES-2: The plan approving authority must be notified one week prior to the pre -
construction conference, one week prior to the commencement of: lant
disturbing activity, and one week prior to the final inspection.
ES-3: All erosion and sediment control measures are to be placed prilor t(
or as the first step in clearing.
ES-4: A copy of the approved erosion and sediment control plan shall be
maintained on the site at all times.
ES-5: Prior to commencing land disturing activities in areas other than
indicated on these plans (including, but not limited to, off -site
borrow or wasted areas), the contractor shall submit a supplementary
erosion control plan to the owner for review and approval by
the plan approving authority.
ES-6: The contractor is responsible for installation of any additional erosion
control measures necessary to prevent erosion and sedimentation
as determined by the plan approving authority.
ES-7: All disturbed areas are to drain to approved sediment control mEasLres at
all times during land disturbing activities and during site developnent
until final stabilization is achieved.
ES-8: During dewatering operations, water will be pumped into an approved
filtering device.
ES-9: The contractor shall inspect all erosion control measures perdodically and
after each runoff -producing rainfall event. Any necessary repairs or
cleanup to maintain the effectiveness of the erosion control devices shall
be made immediately.
The developer shall reserve the right to install and maintain all erosion
control measures required by this plan regardless of the sale of any lot.
Any on site or off site topsoil locations must be approved by the erosion
control officer during the pre -construction conference and may requirie

Retrofit Instructions for Converting Traps
A and B into Biofilter Areas
I Permission must bie granted by the watershed manager and erosion
control official (before the conversion process can take place.
2 Remove all accumulated silt and restore bottom to elevation 654.0
8 Bise tip the stibnoii to promote imfiitraiam.
*3 Apply loam or sanidy loam fill to elevation 655.5 (see cross section detail)
*4 , Apply Sand/Topsoil/organic mix (as specified in cross section detail) to
elevation 656.5.
5 Install ground cover and plant materials per Planting Plan for Biofilter
Areas on Sheet 6A.
Steps 3 and 4 should be done with a small loader or tractor that will not
compact the material significantly while it is being applied. Both the fill
material and sand,/topsoil/organic mix must he inspected by the Erosion
