Yes, I received revised site plans for Old Trail Village Blocks 5, 20, and 21 (ARB2017-38) from Peter Russell (at Shimp
Engineering) on Monday, August 14 and I reviewed them on Tuesday,August 15. Unfortunately, some of my comments
from the previous review(made 6/5/17) had not been addressed and revisions are still needed. I met with Peter and
Justin Shimp on Friday, August 18 and I believe a newly-revised site plan set is in progress.They have not told me,
however,when I might expect to receive this latest set, but I anticipate it should be soon.
Ergo, the ARB2017-38 application for a CoA is still on hold until I receive and review the latest submission. I will let you
know was soon as I receive and review it.

Golf Drive and Old Trail Drive.The spacing of the gingko trees are appropriate as they are. Looking quickly at the
revised C15 you sent as a pdf, I'd say this new spacing meets the ARB criteria.

Hope you are doing well.
If you have moment, I had a quick question concerning the ARB comments for Old Trail Apartments Blocks
5, 20, and 21 (ARB-2017-38: Old Trail Village Apartments, Blocks 5, 20, 21 - Final Site Plant).
The second part the the first comment.
1. All trees planted parallel to interior roads and in parking areas must be at least 2.5-inch caliper and should
be planted at least every 40 feet on center.
I made minor amendments to the large trees on C15(see attached) to make sure all the trees are 40' apart,but
am unsure if these are the trees the comment was about. My only other concern would be the ginkgo trees at
the entrance of Upland Drive. The ginkgo's are fastigiate(see canopy calcs. C17) and offset from the willow
oaks. The Ginkgo's will not be detrimentally to the effect the street edge, but was unsure if these were the

trees in question. If these are not the trees referred to in the comment or my comments are unclear, please let
me know.

I just left a message with the receptionist at your firm, but I thought I would follow up with an email.
I have just begun to review your resubmittal which was received in our office last Friday(6/23/17).Thank you for
providing additional architectural drawings which address two of the six items enumerated in my letter requesting
changes, dated June 5, 2017. Unfortunately, I will not be able to complete my review of these revised architectural
drawings until I've received the revised site plan sheets that address the remaining four points enumerated in the
aforementioned letter(which is attached, along with the resubmittal form, to this email for your reference). Namely, I
will need sheets C-14 through C-18 revised to address those first four points which regard landscape and lighting
requirements as per the ARB standards and criteria.
Your firm was listed as the primary contact on the application, and as such, you and Ray Gaines are the only liaisons on
this project with whom I've communicated. I know that the site plans were produced by Shimp Engineering, but I have
no contact information for the project manager there and it is the County's policy to only contact that person/firm listed
on the application as the primary contact with the assumption that that body is coordinating the entire application
submittal and any necessary resubmittals. Please forward the attached letter to your counterparts at Shimp Engineering
and request them to submit revised materials at their earliest convenience, as I am unable to proceed with my review
until those materials are in hand.

Your colleague, Ray Gaines, called me today to speak about a particular revision I requested in the letter I sent on
6/5/17, namely number 5:
"If wall-mounted lights are proposed,they must be drawn on the architectural elevations and manufacturer's
specifications, cut sheets, and a lighting schedule must be submitted for ARB review. Photometric values emitted from
wall-mounted lights must be added to the lighting plan."
Ray informed me that attaining photometric values for the proposed wall-mounted lights will be difficult, but the models
you have chosen are full cut-offs which emit 3,000 or less lumens. In that case,you may disregard the second sentence
in number 5 which asks you to add the photometric values to the lighting plan, but please still submit architectural
elevations that show the proposed wall-mounted lights along with cut sheets and a lighting schedule for review. Also,
please incorporate the following standard lighting note on the lighting plan if you have not already done so:
"Each outdoor luminaire equipped with a lamp that emits 3,000 or more initial lumens shall be a full cutoff luminaire and
shall be arranged or shielded to reflect light away from adjoining residential distncts and away from adjacent roads.The
spillover of lighting from luminaires onto public roads and property in residential or rural areas zoning districts shall not
exceed one half footcandle."
