The applicant requests relief from section 5-3-1 of the Albemarle
County Zoning Ordinance to allow a porch addition to be located
19 feet from the property line; a variance of 11 feet.
Zoning Ordinance Requirement
All structures shall be located thirty (30) feet or more from any
street right-of-way.
Staff Recommendations
The proposed porch is several feet closer to the street than the
existing stoop, but the proposed porch would not be any closer to •
the street than the structures on the adjoining parcels. Therefore,
the staff recommends approval.
