2/28/85 Please check to see if the sign is still located on the property.
In 1980 the Board of Zoning Appeals granted a variance to allow a
location sign to be erected just off the right-of-way of Rt . 250 east ;
a variance of 30 feet. Please take a picture of the existing sign if
it is still there. The variance was granted with the condition that
the sign be removed within thirty days after completion of the
permanent entrance, but no longer than three years (9/12/83) .

Proposed Variance
The applicant requests relief from Section 7-3 of the Albemarle
County Zoning Ordinance to allow a location sign to be erected
just off the right-of-way of Rt. 250 east; a variance of 30 feet.
Zoning Ordinance Requirement
All structures, except signs advertising sale or rent of the
property, shall be located thirty (30) feet or more from any
street right-of-way.
Staff Recommendations
The sign would not be visible when traveling west on Route 250
if installed any distance back from the right-of-way of Route
250. The staff recommends approval with the following conditions .
1. That this sign be removed within 30 days after the
completion of the permanent entrance for Ashcroft.
