Purpose for seeking Variance is to request that the sign be within the 30feet
offset from the street right-of-way. The reason for the variance is that
there is no other location on the property that will allow the existence of
the Sign due to the finished surface and at the same time allow visibility
to traffic from Old Ivy Road. The sign is well within the dimensions re-
quired by the law, and it is indeed a most attactive sign. It is does not

Dear Mr. Hurt :
I genuinely appreciate the opinion rendered by the Board
of Zoning Appeals . I am aware of the fact that the current
location of our sign is on the State right-of-way by approxi-
mately three feet . It is my plan and intention to locate
this sign outside of the 30 ft. right-of-way by the State
Highway Department. I would request that I be able to do
this as soon as the ground conditions permit this transfer.
I would assume this could be done about the middle of January.
Your assistance in this matter is genuinely appreciated.

Zoning Ordinance to allow a freestanding sign to be located at the right-
of-way of Rt. 601; a variance of 30 feet.
Zoning Ordinance Requirement
All structures, except signs advertising sale or rent of the. property,
shall be located thirty (30) feet or more from any street right-of-way.
Staff Recommendations
If setback any further from the right-of-way the sign would not be visible
when traveling west on Route 601,, Therefore, the staff recommends. approval._
