Edward Wyant Tax Map: 041 Parcel: 35 Zoned: A-1 Existing Activity Country Store Proposed Variance The applicant requests relief from section 2-3 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to allow gas pumps to be located 25 feet from the property line; a variance of 50 feet. Zoning Ordinance Requirement All structures, as herein specifically defined, shall be located a minimum of seventy-five (75) feet from any street, road, or access easement. Staff Recommendations The gas pumps could be located at 25 feet from the right-of-way without endangering the public safety if the following conditions are met: 1. That the parking area be delineated. 2. A direct path of travel be shown by marking the path of travel (both sides of pumps) from the highway to the pumps. This would eliminate any automobiles from blocking the gas pumps and causing other automobiles to back onto the highway, therefore, causing a hazard.
