The applicant requests relief from section 19 . 9 . 1 of the
Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to allow a subdivision
sign to be located 15 feet from the property line ; a
variance of 15 feet .
Zoning Ordinance Requirements
Pursuant to Section 19 . 9 . 1 , structures to be located on
the outer perimeter of a PRD district shall conform to
the setback and yard regulations of the adjoining district .
Pursuant to Section 21 . 7 . 1 , adjacent to public streets ,
no portion of any structure except signs advertising sale
or rent of the property shall be erected closer than
thirty (30) feet to any public street right-of-way .
Staff Recommendations
If this sign was to be located any further back from the
right-of-way , it would not be visible from Route 250
because of the slope on the east side of the entrance
and the trees on the west side of the entrance . Therefore ,
the staff recommends approval .
