Dear Mr. Kennedy:
We are very much concerned about the
variance requested by Mr. Javor that will be
before the Board of Zoning Appeals next
week.
We oppose the reduction that Mr.
Javor is requesting, but if the Board does
grant the. request, we urge that a condition
requiring landscaping and year around screen-
ing of this parcerfrom Rt. 250 be imposed.
You might be interested to know that
representatives from the Commission of Outdoor
Recreation and the state HighwaLi Department
office recently reviewed Rt. 250 and their
conclusion was that it should be included in
the state scenic roads program now that so
many signs have been removed.
They suggest making it a of a scenic
drive for tourist purposes. We feel that Char-
lottesville needs one major road to serve some of
our, most attractive residential areas, enabling
our community to attract the high quality business
leaders and professional people who want to live
in the kinds of residential areas that Et. 250
serves .

The applicant requests relief from Section 30.5.2.2 of the Albemarle
County Zoning Ordinance to allow structures (service offices) to be
located 74 feet from the right-of-way of Rt. 250 West; a scenic high-
way; a variance of 76 feet.
Zoning Ordinance Requirement
Pursuant to Section 30.5.2,2, SA-highway overlay districts are
established along scenic highway corridors in Albemarle County
for a distance of one hundred fifty (150) feet on each side of
the right-of-way.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval in relation to distance setback of
adjoining office (Kirtley Realty) .

Dear Mr. Jevor:
On July 1, 1981 in response to your letters of June 1S and June 72,
1981, the shove numbered permit was extended to December 23, 1981. In
view of your pending site plan and information received from the Albemarle
County Planning Department concerning approval of the site plan which was
the basis for the original approval of your permit, please cease any and
all work on the above numbered permit until this matter is resolved.
Since your site plan is currently before the Planning Commission
I would expect this work stoppage to be a short duration.
If you should have any further questions concerning this matter,
