We oppose the reduction that Mr. Javor is requesting, but if the Board does grant the. request, we urge that a condition requiring landscaping and year around screen- ing of this parcerfrom Rt. 250 be imposed. You might be interested to know that representatives from the Commission of Outdoor Recreation and the state HighwaLi Department office recently reviewed Rt. 250 and their conclusion was that it should be included in the state scenic roads program now that so many signs have been removed. They suggest making it a of a scenic drive for tourist purposes. We feel that Char- lottesville needs one major road to serve some of our, most attractive residential areas, enabling our community to attract the high quality business leaders and professional people who want to live in the kinds of residential areas that Et. 250 serves .
