Dear Mr. Plotkin:
Several letters have been sent but , to my dismay, they have
never reached the proper party. I do hope you can help.
This letter is in reference to the freestanding business
sign erected at the entrance, to Albemarle Square from Rio Road
by the Moore Sign Company, Richmond, Virginia. The sign is in
violation of the setback regulation. Letters have been sent to
the Moore Sign Company, but no response has been received by my
office.
If the sign is left at its present location, a variance mus
be applied for and heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals .
Your immediate attention is requested by this office .

RE: Albemarle Square Entrance Sign
Dear Tommy:
Enclosed please find a letter which we received by certified mail
today from the County of Albemarle Building Inspections Department.
As you can see, the county has been very patient with respect to
their consent to our leaving the entrance sign at its present lo-
cation, with the proviso that the proceedings for following through
with their request that we file the varience regarding the violation
of the setback regulation. It is apparent from this letter that
you have not followed through with this -particular request as of
this date.
Please advise exactly when you anticipate completing the paperwork ',
on this job.
In addition, it is apparent that the sign still has a slight tilt,
which as I recall, you indicated you would examine on your next
trip to Charlottesville.
We would greatly appreciate your assigning a higher priority to bo h
the above mentioned items , so that they can be cleared from your
account with Rio Associates, and our account with Albemarle County
promptly.

Re: Albemarle Square Business Sign
Dear Mr. Anderson:
This letter is in reference to the sign setback distance.
In checking with the Virginia Department of Highways and a site
plan for some changes in a building at the Square, we come up with
the same measurement. The sign sets twenty-six (26) feet from the
right-of-way. At the time the measurement was taken, when you were
notified originally, it was 25 feet 8 inches, so I rounded the figure
to an even number.
I am scheduling the Board of Zoning Appeals to review this
application on their February 9th meeting at 3:00 p.m.
You may contact our office if you have any questions.
