This business has been operating in Albemarle County on Ivy Road West for several decades. This relocation is the result of the end of its lease term. The subject property has a comp plan amendment and rezoning, as well as the appropriate special use permits, such that the proposed use as a Volvo dealership is a conforming auto related use. CMA Properties, Inc., owner and developer of the subject property, developed Colonial Nissan in 2014 at this same complex on adjacent lands. Colonial Nissan is in the Rt. 29 Entrance Corridor. It is anticipated that a similar focus on aesthetics and form will be used for this Volvo Cars of Charlottesville project. The aesthetic,form, and use will all blend with current uses on contiguous property at 100, 150, 200, and 300 Myers Drive. While only a small sliver of the proposed building and parking area falls in the entrance corridor overlay,we look forward to working with the ARB on aesthetics and form to implement ideas as we are able.
