PROPOSED VARIANCE
The applicant requests relief from Section 10.4 to allow a church addition
to be located 6 feet from the side property line; a variance of 19 feet.
ZONING ORDINANCE REQUIREMENT
Pursuant to Section 10.4, all structures shall be located twenty-five (25)
feet from the side property line.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
The church is located approximately in the center of the half acre lot (in
relation to road frontage) . The elevation of the building is above the road
level. The church has no on site parking. The parking is parallel with
Rt. 692. We feel that it would not be any detriment to the adjoining
property. We do feel that if this would increase attendance to the church,
a parking problem could become a reality. We recommend approval.

Dear Mr. Hurt:
On August 17, 1982, I met with the Reverend George Green on the
Mt. View Baptist Church property just south of Batesville.
The purpose of my visit was to determine the feasability of installing
a septic tank drainfield and well on this 1/2 acre piece of property, on which
is now located an old existing church building. A. new addition to the church 1' 0
is planned, however, the land is extremely rocky and the slope is such that it
will be virtually impossible to install a septic system, also a well could never
be drilled in a spot to maintain a one hundred foot distance from the sewage
disposal field.
This church now has outside toilets (pit privies) and we are willing
to allow this situation to continue.
