Caleb Stowe Tax Map: 061U-02 Parcel: 6 Zoned: HC EXISTING ACTIVITY Office Buildings PROPOSED VARIANCE The applicant requests relief from Section 21.7.1 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance to allow a freestanding business sign to be located nine (9) feet from the right-of-way, a variance of twenty-one (21) feet. ZONING ORDINANCE REQUIREMENT Pursuant to Section 21.7. 1, adjacent to public streets: No portion of any structure except signs advertising sale or rental of the property shall be erected closer than thirty (30) feet to any public street right- of-way. STAFF RECOMMENDATION The property has only one entrance which is to the southern portion of Lot 6 . The entrance serves both lots and is an office-condominium complex. The visibility traveling south, you would have an ample range of visual contact, and traveling north you have a visual problem existing because of the entrance location.
