As part of the utility relocation process for the Rio Road GSI project a joint-use utility easement was established along the front of the Albemarle Square property in the names of VDOT, Dominion Virginia Power, and CenturyLink. The utilities in this location are generally very deep and are contained within a concrete duct-bank with the known exception of a CenturyLink communication fiber-optic cable. Although VDOT does not object to the construction of the sign within the easement we cannot speak for the other entities that also have rights to the easement;such permission will need to come from Dominion Virginia Power and CenturyLink. Contact information for these entities was provided to you via email on December 21,2016. Please be aware that there are other privately owned utilities within this area that were discovered during the construction of the ductbank. This letter does not guarantee that other utilities, known or unknown, will not be found in this location. I would also like to inform you that Miss Utility of Virginia will not locate VDOT owned utilities.
