Dear Mr. & Mrs. Boles: •
I'm writing you in reference to the mobile home permit #82-2 that
was issued you for the purpose of interim housing.
On September 22, 1983, a certificate of occupancy was issued for
building permit #82-896. Upon issuance of the certificate of occupancy,
the mobile home must be removed from the property.
My letter is notice to you that the mobile home will have to be
removed from the property on or before November 25, 1983.
We ask for your compliance in regard to this matter. If you have

Proposed Variance
The applicant requests relief from Section 4.6.3.2 of the Albemarle County Zoning
Ordinance to allow a storage building to be located 47 feet from right-of-way,
a variance 13 feet.
Zoning Ordinance Requirement
Pursuant to Section 4.6.3.2, other yards adjacent to streets shall have a minimum
width or depth, as the case may be, of eighty (80) percent of the minimum front
yard depth required in the district in which the lot is located. This provision
shall apply to lots in the RA or residential districts only.
Staff Comments:
The applicant applied for a mobile home permit for interim housing. A permanent
dwelling was reconstructed, and a certificate of occupancy issued. An
inspector was sent out at the end of October to see if the mobile home had been
removed from the property. At the time of the inspection, the inspector found !
located on the property an office trailer. Mr. Boles was given written notice
to remove the mobile home. An extension of time was granted until December 8,
1983, to remove the trailer.
November 15, 1983, Mr. Boles made a building permit application #83-1668 for a
storage shed after a discussion with Robert Vaughn. November 29, 1983, Mr.
Boles made an application for the present variance.
The applicant is now converting an office trailer to a storage shed. The con-
version has already been started. The building permit has not been issued
pending the results of this application.
The topography of the property is accommodative for location of the structure
at the required setback. There is adequate space at the property to locate the
structure and meet the required setback. We find no undue hardship and cannot
recommend approval.
