DESCRIPTION:Grimm + Parker proposes a one-story addition of roughly 1,800 square feet adjacent the building entrance on the North facade, facing Route 20. This addition will accommodate a security vestibule, an administrative suite, the Principal's office and a classroom of roughly 850 s.f.. Civil work will include 22 new parking spaces, a reconfiguration of the bus and parent drop-off and revised entrance walkways. 2. COMPATIBILITY:The proposed addition will match the existing building's material palette of red and brown brick, and dark bronze anodized metal. Its roofline will match the existing building, with the exception of a small raised canopy over the entrance. In massing and scale, the addition will blend into the existing North facade, between the Media Center wing to the East and the Gym/Cafeteria wing to the West. The masonry patterns and fenestration will complement the existing building. The plan of the addition is stepped back away from the entry,to maintain views from the entrance drive to the iconic, cylindrical red structure that is a key part of the existing building's exterior character. We will be happy to answer any questions you have about the attached materials.
