"Visibility of all mechanical equipment from the Entrance Corridor shall be eliminated." /Response: Note added to sheet L1.05 -Landscape Plan. %.2' The following note should be included on the lighting plan. "Each outdoor luminaire equipped with a lamp that emits 3,000 or more initial lumens shall be full cutoff luminaire and shall be arranged or shielded to reflect light away from adjoining residential districts and away from adjacent roads." /Response: Note added to sheet L1.08—Photometric Plan Ii The following note should be added to the landscape plan. "All site plantings of trees and shrubs shall be allowed to reach, and be maintained at, mature height; the topping of trees is prohibited. Shrubs and trees shall be pruned minimally and only to support the overall health of the plant." R sponse: Note added to sheet L1.05-Landscape Plan. Assurances will need to be provided that trees along Old Lynchburg Road will not conflict with utility lines or easements or trees will be relocated and/or alternate species selected, as appropriate Response: We have not found record of an easement and we have just begun coordinating with the utility company to verify utilities. In addition,we have explored two options for addressing the street trees along Old Lynchburg Road—1. adjust the tree locations slightly so they are not in conflict with utility poles and select a smaller tree that will not interfere with utility lines (Carpinus caroliniana or Cladastris Kentuckea)or 2. keep the Ginkgo trees but increase tree spacing to 39' on center to avoid conflicts with the easternmost utility pole while moving the three westernmost trees away from the road to avoid powerlines and other utiliti s. The Ginkgo cultivar selected (Princeton Sentry) is a fastigiate variety and will not ty ' ally grow more than 20'wide. In this scenario the trees are located roughly 18' away f m the overhead utility lines(with the exception of one tree located 9.5'from overhead tility lines and one tree located 12' away from the easternmos tility pole). We prefer option 2 and this is what is reflected in the revised plan. One stree ree has been removed in order to accommodate the new spacing—6 street trees instead 7. Six trees meet the street tree requirement(See Landscape Calculations on L1.05 -Landscape Plan). 5. If changes other than those requested have been made, identify those changes in the memo Respo e: Rachel Falkenstein with the county asked that we provide additional screening between Old nchburg Place and the proposed biofilter in the form of shrubs or a planting strip as space mits. In response,37 Myrica cerifera'Don's Dwarf'(Dwarf Wax Myrtle)shrubs have been added 111 3rd street se - 434 295 8177 t . along the edge of Old Lynchburg Place between the parking lot and biofilter. Rachel also commented t t the "County's landscaping and screening requirements do not require perimeter parking trees" but "an area of at least 5%of the paved parking and vehicular circulation must be landscaped. Please provide calculations to show this requirement is met."In response,we did not remove the perimeter parking trees from the plan but we did remove the perimeter parking tree calculations from the Landscape Calculations Schedule and replaced it with the 5%of paved parking and vehicular circulation calculation (Sheet L1.05).
