I won't be able to approve the drawings with the PMS 186 references. If the letter faces truly are 2793 acrylic, and if the references to "match PMS 186" are deleted, then I can approve the proposal. Applicants who attended the Texas Roadhouse ARB meetings were aware that a separate sign application review would follow the architectural and site review. Everyone involved knows there is a risk in,manufacturing a sign before the permit is approved. Design details, context and specific site conditions are important factors in sign review, so previous approval of a sign design in one location should not be considered a guarantee of future approval of a different design in a different location. I alerted my client to our conversation regarding PMS 186 in this instance, and he states, "We have already manufactured the signs and due to ship."As mentioned, they felt comfortable proceeding to fabrication because of their initial ARB signage revision request(prior to permitting)and their PMS185 change to PMS186 (Albemarle County ARB recommended PMS color replacement in previous sign applications). Indicate on the drawing the amount of clear space above and below the channel letters. 2. Revise the red color references from PMS 185 and PMS 186 to PMS 187 for the channel letters. Please respond within 15 days of the date of this letter whether you will or will not proceed with the revisions listed above. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your application. If you choose to proceed with the revisions,please forward me one set of revised drawings(by email is fine). Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period associated with your original submittal. However,I expect to complete the review of your revised proposal within 2 weeks of your re-submittal. Thanks.
