Dear Mr. McClellan and Ms. Schimming,
Your LOR application has been reviewed. In order for the amended site plan to be approved the following
revisions are required:
[32.6.2(k), 4.17] It appears a few lighting fixtures are located on the photometric plan but not
included in the analysis, as indicated by the lack of light contours and low footcandle values around
these fixtures. Please review and revise to ensure the placement of the fixtures and the calculation
grid is correct.
2. [32.6.2(k), 4.17] If approved, this sheet will effectively replace the Site Lighting Plan sheet in the
approved 2016 site plan. As such, this or a second sheet will need to include cut sheets for all six (6)
proposed fixtures (i.e. fixtures A-F of the luminaire schedule table) and identify which symbol (A-F)
is used to represent each fixture on the plan.
[32.6.2(k), 4.17] Albemarle County assesses photometric plans based on a maintenance factor, or
"LLF", of 1.0. Please revise the luminaire schedule table on the photometric plan to reflect this
requirement. (Note: Before the C/O is issued, site inspectors will use the lighting plan to evaluate
whether the as -built lighting aligns with the site plan. It is therefore recommended to base the lighting
plan on a "Day 1" scenario.)
4. [32.6.2(a), 32.5.2(a)] Provide the following general information on the plan:
a. A North arrow
b. A scale bar
c. A revision date in the title block (for the resubmittal)
5. [Advisory Comment] Be advised that the revised lighting fixture locations will require a revised
electrical plan to show locations and a submittal of the light fixtures will also be needed for building
inspections.
Staff has provided references to provisions of Chapter 18 of the Code of the County of Albemarle. The
Code is kept up to date by the County Attorney's office. The Code may be found on the County
Attorney's website which may be found under "Departments and Services" at Albemarle.org.
In accord with the provisions of Section 32.4.3.5 of Chapter 18 of the Code if the developer fails to
submit a revised final site plan to address all of the requirements within six (6) months after the date of
this letter the application shall be deemed to have been voluntarily withdrawn by the developer. If you
