To all concerned,
It is without reservation that I am writing this letter of support and thankfulness regarding Hilliard Estate
& LandManagement(HILLIARD)and more specifically, Carter Hilliard.
Our family owns a small, 500 plus acre farm situated along the Lynch River in Northern Albamarle
/Southern Greene Counties.
We live in Dallas, Texas and upon becoming property Owners in Virginia in 2012, we were in need of a
knowledgeable, skilled and conservation minded land management firm.
Upon retaining Hilliard Estate and Land Management we now have a redeemed and alive 500 acre
Biosphere that was on the verge of extinction, having been neglected for year's.
Under Mr. Hilliard's Leadership, his team of professionals engaged in a well thought out, organic and
environmentally sensitive approach of bringing new life to our farm.
Over the last 7 years our Property has been transformed.
Several hundred acres of depleted soil and pasture land has been fully enriched under the skilled
analysis and testing by HILLIARD. Thru addressing mineral depletion by continually monitoring the soil
DNA, we now have healthy and thriving pastures and crop land. HILLIARD's team has been successful in
planting a variety of crops that have yielded abundantly.
HILLIARD has also protected multiple streams from Invasive trees that were overcoming their banks.
We have a thriving garden.
HILLIARD implemented a wildlife management program 7 years ago and now our property is thriving
with new life. Totally absent upon our acquisition.
Thru a properly and professionally (on -going) fencing program, we now have protected river and
streams that will allow a proper coexistence and reintroduction of livestock, to healthy and organically
enriched pastures; 7 years in the making, all under Carter Hilliard's leadership.
As an Entrepreneur of 30 years, our entire family is conservation and preservation minded. We've found
tremendous joy in working along side others towards these common goals.
There's been no greater Partner in the love of what God has created than Carter Hilliard. He's a man
imbued with Integrity that lives openly, authentically and transparently. He's assembled some of the
finest teammates that I've ever met. The work ethic, knowledge and courtesy among his team is
remarkable. Many have become friends of our entire family. We break bread together and have laughed
and cried together. They've become a part of our great joy in coming to Virginia. We've learned and
continue to learn from each of them.
Although many years his senior, I continue to learn from my dear friend Carter. A truth speaker who
passionately loves what he does. A husband and father above all things and a friend and steward of the
Piedmont's and this beautiful Dominion.
It is with great personal regret that I have a planned international trip and cannot attend the BZA
meeting to personally address the esteemed members.
Having the pleasure of also knowing Mr. HILLIARD's Landlord, JB Birdsall. Albamarle County and
Charlottesville couldn't find a better duo coexisting together. Both proven and known men who rest in
their integrity.
