Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hogshead:
The signs listed below are in violation of the Albemarle County Zoning
Ordinance Sections 4.15.4.1, 4.15.4.2, and 4.15.4.3. A copy of these
regulations have been enclosed for your information.
The signs in violation are located at the intersection of Route 20 and
Route 726, the intersection of Route 6 and Route 726, and the intersection of
'� Route 20 and Route 6. Albemarle County identifies these as off-site location
and directional signs and; therefore, need the permission of the property
owner and approval by the Virginia State Highway Department. •
The above signs are also subject to Albemarle County setbacks for the zones
in which they are located.
Your prompt attention to this matter will be appreciated. An inspection
will be made in 12 days to assure the above violation has been abated.

Dear Mr & Mrs. Hogshead:
This letter is to inform you that on March 20, 1984, during the regular
meeting of the Albemarle County Board of Zoning Appeals, your application
for VA-84-16 was approved - as submitted by the applicant and is for the ap-
plicant only. .
This variance approval allows relief from Section 30.5.2.2 on tax map
130A(1), parcel 70 to allow a location sign to be located 13 feet from Route
6 right-of-way, a variance of 37 feet; and also relief from Section 30.5.2.2
for the sign to be located 30 feet from Route 20 right-of-way, a variance of
20 feet.
This variance approval allows relief from Section 30.5.2.2 on tax map
130A(1) , parcel 50 to allow a two (2) square foot directional sign to be
located 9 feet from Route 20 right-of-way, a variance of 41 feet; and also
relief from Section 21. 7. 1 to be located 10 feet from Route 726 right-of-
way, a variance of 20 feet.
This variance approval allows relief from Section 30.5.2.2 on tax map
130A(1) , parcel 63 to allow a two (2) square foot directional sign to be
located 8 feet from Route 6 right-of-way, a variance of 42 feet; and also
relief from Section 21. 7. 1 to be located 10 feet from Route 726 right-of-
way, a variance of 20 feet.
Pursuant to Section 35.0 of the Zoning Ordinance, the actual costs of
any notice required under the code shall be taxed to the applicant, to the
extent that the same shall exceed the applicable fee set forth in this section.
Failure to pay all applicable fees shall constitute grounds for the denial of
any application. Please see the attached bill for the amount due of $38.65.

Our office needs a sign permit application completed for the sign located
on National Bank's property and a letter of authorization from the owner.
Please enclose a sketch of the sign.
