Subject: Grayrock Section II - Russet Road
This section of roadway 10+00 to 12+00 which includes the depressed utility crossing has been removed from section II
and added to section III per letter of request from Paul St. Pierre dated June 27, 2002 and approved by Jack Kelsey. This
should complete all requirements for VDOT acceptance in sections I & II.
I will contact both Charles Baber and Paul St. Pierre if you agree.

GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES FOR PUBLIC ROADS
1. Prior to cam ncement of any ...
n true tCon within any existing public r gnt-of-way,
iuding co ction to any existing road, a permit shall be obtained from the Virginia
Department ofn Transportation (VENT). This plans as drawn may not accurately reflect the
requirements of the permit. Where any discrepancies occur the requirements of the permit
shall govern.
2. Canstruct ion inspection of all proposed roads within the development will be made by the
County. The contractor mus{ notify the department of engineering (29fi-5861) 48 hours in
advance of the start of construction.
3. All materials and construction methods shall conform to current specifccat-ce and
standards If VDOT. All excavation far underground pipe Cn s to l la t ion most
comply with
DSHA standards for the construction industry (29 CER part 1926).
4. Erosion and siltation iantral ensures shall be provided in accordance with the approved
control plan and must he installed prior to any clearing, grading or Other
connstrruction.
5. Upon completion of fine gracing an preparation of thz cadbed subgrade, the C ntractor
shall have CBR tests performed In the subgrade Sail. Three (31 copies of the test results
shall be submitted to the County. If a subgrade soil CBR of 10 or greater i5 not
obtainable. a revised pavement design shall be made by the design engineer and submitted

6. All slopes and disturbed areas are to be fertilized. seeded and mulched. The maximum
allowable slope is 2:1 (horizontal: vertical). Where reasonably so t ainaple, lesser slopes

14, All required signs (stop, street ma e speed limit signs, etc.) are to be furnished and
installed by the developer prior to ma cep tares. Signs and th a it installation shall conform
to "Albemarle Caunty Road Naming ands Property Numbering Ordinance and Manual" and the
Vir i mannaI f r Uniform traffic Control Devices. The locations of all s shown
on She plans. The developer shall be responsible for maintenance of the signs n until the
ads have been accepted into the Nate secondary road system. The speed limits to be
posted on speed limit signs are to be determined by VIOL prior to acceptance. The speed

is to be posted 5 mph below the design speed.
15. Road plan approval is subject to final subdivision plat validation. Should the final plat
for this project expire prior to signing and recordation, then approval of these plans shall

16, Traffic Control or other regulatory signs or barricades shall be installed by the developer
