1. Contractor shall maintain an emergency access route away from the existing buildings at all times.
2. Contractor shall remove all demolished items, not being reused, to a location outside of the property. The contractor shall
abide by all local, State and federal guidelines for proper material disposal.
3. Prior to commencement of any construction the contractor and/or owner shall obtain all necessary State, County and
local approvals and permits.
4, The contractor must notify MISS UTILITY (1-800-552-7001) 48 hours in advance of the start of construction,

Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook, 3rd Edition, 1992.
6. The abbreviation V,D.O.T, made hereafter refers to the Virginia Department of Transportation, The term County refers to the
County of Albemarle, Virginia.
7. All materials and construction methods shall conform to minimum State and County specifications and standards. All
excavation for underground pipe installation must comply with OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry (24 CFR Part
1926) or as otherwise specified by the State or County.
8. Erosion and sediment control measures shall be provided as necessary and in accordance with the current State Erosion
and Sediment Control Handbook and must be installed prior to any clearing, grading, or other construction.
4. The Contractor shall have CBR tests performed on the subgrade soil where new pavement is shown and copies shall be
submitted to the architect/engineer/owner.
10. All slopes and disturbed areas are to be fertilized and seeded. Maximum allowable fill or cut slope is 2:1. Where reasonably
obtainable lesser slopes of 4:1 or better are to be achieved.
11. All signs or other regulatory devices shall conform with the Virginia Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices, latest edition.
12. Dust control is the responsibility of the Contractor. Contractor shall coordinate with the Developer for use of existing water
connection,
13. Access to all buildings during demolition and construction shall be maintained.
14. Overhead wiring or ether obstructions shall be higher than 13 feet 6 inches.
15. An approved water supply for fire protection shall be made available as soon as combustible material arrives on the site.
16. All handicapped accessible parking space signage shall be ADA compliant
17, Smoking to be allowed in only designated spaces with proper receptacles.
18. Waste disposal of combustible debris shall be removed from the building at the end of each workday.
14. Cutting and welding. Operations involving the use of cutting and welding shall be done in accordance with Chapter 26,
of the International Fire Code, addressing welding and hotwork operations.
20. Fire extinguishers shall be provided with not less than one approved portable fire extinguisher at each stairway on all floor
levels where combustible materials have accumulated.
21. Required vehicle access far firefighting shall be provided to all construction or demolition sites. Vehicle access shall be
provided to within 100 feet of temporary or permanent fire department connections. Vehicle access shall be provided by
either temporary or permanent roads, capable of supporting vehicle loading under all weather conditions. Vehicle access
shall be maintained until permanent fire apparatus access roads are available.
