LOCATION: Located in the Esmont area on the northeast side
of Route 627, approximately .2 mile south of its
intersection with Route 6 - or 400 feet north of
Yancey Elementary School .
VARIANCE REQUEST
The applicant requests a variance from Section 10. 4 to allow a
satellite dish to be located 41 feet from the right-of-way of
Route 627, a variance of 34 feet .
AREA CHARACTERISTICS
This area is characterized as rural residential moderately developed
with single family dwellings.
STAFF COMMENT
The applicant proposes to install a satellite dish for personal
use. Siting of the dish is severely limited due to the narrowness
of the lot , existing structures and stands of trees on the lot .
Staff is of the opinion that a hardship exists due to the
narrowness of the lot .
RECOMMENDATION
Based upon the above, staff recommends approval of the requested
variance.
